SLES-MINI network installation working: https://openqa.suse.de/tests/341152
TODO:
- add more mirrors, now only ftp/http are available (test should handle nfs/smb without change)
- fix fake scc variables
Updated by mkravec over 8 years ago
- Status changed from In Progress to Resolved
For SLES-MINI there are new variables:
MIRROR_HTTP
MIRROR_FTP
MIRROR_NFS
and
INSTALL_SOURCE saying [http|ftp|nfs|smb]
which sets up installation source in bootloader.
Samba/https is ready, we just do not have mirror yet.

Let's reopen. AFAIU you did well to put support for different network protocols but we don't make use yet of smb/https/nfs and we should track it until we have tests using this.
We can
- add https/smb/nfs support to openqa.suse.de (run the corresponding servers there)
- test against dist.suse.de already offering these protocols. As builds are not preserved on dist we would need to restrict this to milestone builds

Network installation from HTTP/NFS/FTP are now tested on SLES
Network installation is not possible from HTTPS (there is no dialog for https, setting https url manually also failed)
TODO:
- add support in openqa for SMB
- opensuse

Marita to check with Tomas Heheijk about SMB testsuite in Slenkins.
And check if HTTPS is a supported scenario.

We have more subtickets dictating where we need to go and we planned them individually. This epic is blocked by the subtasks and estimated for M18 now. I will track the progress.

Regarding "https" I think we have done what we could, missing parts are minor parts in SMB, especially openSUSE, which is waiting for o3 saltification which for now is something that QSF is not actively looking into.

with all subtasks "done" I would say it's good enough. let this old 4-digit ticket rest
