Analyzing the issue further, it seems that lshw package is only available for Public Cloud product (12) and SLE15 with SLE-Module_Basesystem. Failures were detected at least on SLE12SP3/SP4.

- Status changed from New to In Progress
- Status changed from In Progress to Resolved
Test is failing for SLES 15 SP1 however looks like a bug in the product
- Status changed from Resolved to Workable
Looks like it would only run on ppc64le on sle15 SP1 onwards
- Subject changed from [QAM] test fails in lshw to [QAM][functional][u] test fails in lshw
It was indeed available on x86_64 in SLE15 (via updates), but that's no longer the case on 15SP1. I can limit the execution of the openQA test to ppc64le only, but I'm waiting a bit if there's an answer to my question about whether it'd be a regression to not have it anymore on x86_64 while people might have started to use it now.
The original bug requesting lshw was about ppc64 while x86_64 was mentioned but not formally agreed upon.
- % Done changed from 0 to 80
- Target version set to Milestone 23
Yes, I checked and it's now available in SP1 repositories. I will propose a PR to bring back x86 testing.
- Status changed from Workable to In Progress
- Status changed from In Progress to Resolved
- % Done changed from 80 to 100
The PR is merged, and the test seems to be enabled on x86 again.
- Subject changed from [QAM][functional][u] test fails in lshw to [QAM] test fails in lshw
It was solved from the QAM team.
