coordination #32527: [sle][functional][epic][yast][y] test fails in partitioning_warnings - partitioning_warnings was not adapted for storage-ng (was: after this send_key 'alt - y' seems to be not working)

Bugs in existing tests
Description
Observation¶
Warnings are now implemented in storage-ng and can be verified.
We need to remove soft-failure for https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1055747
openQA test in scenario sle-15-Installer-DVD-x86_64-btrfs+warnings@64bit fails in
partitioning_warnings
Reproducible¶
Fails since (at least) Build 288.8
Expected result¶
Last good: SLE 12 SP3 GM
Acceptance criteria¶
- AC1: Test works on storage-ng or fails due to a bug
- AC2: The test checks for the warning on SLE12
Tasks¶
- It is suggested to verify functionality manually before changes to automated test
- verify bsc#1077708 after the test continues further
- Keep in mind that on storage-ng (SLE15+) there is no warning for missing swap unless required.
- adjust the test as necessary for storage-ng to make it working
- do not over-engineer trying to cover all potential new warnings and never finish. The ticket is "medium" in the end.

@riafarov your one AC was actually rather a suggestion. Could you find a "last good" or reference please?

Hi Sergio,
sure, np. Thanks for update!
FYI, scenarios affected by missing warning about missing swap:
- Subject changed from [sle][functional][medium][yast] Remove workaround for fixed bug about missing warning for missing swap partition (adjust partitioning_warnings for storage ng) to [sle][functional][medium][yast] Remove workaround for fixed bug about missing warning for missing swap partition (WAS: adjust partitioning_warnings for storage ng)
Swap warning is still missing in build 500.3. I have checked /control.xml and there is no partitioning section included.
Hi Martin, the behavior is different on SLE15. On SLE12 the warning is always expected on missing swap, but on SLE15 it will only be shown if the swap is required. And in our test scenario, it is not required, so it is not expected to see a warning about missing swap on SLE15 for this btrfs+warnings test suite.
Hi Sergio, thanks for your explain. I have got a bit confused with the SLES section in NG proposal - by example.
This partitioning section would emulate quite closely the current SLES behavior, proposing always / and swap partitions (or logical volumes, if the user decides to use LVM). In addition, it will give the user the opportunity to have a separate /home partition/volume. That option will be enabled by default if there is enough space to create a home of at least 5 GiB.
Warning types:
- SLE15: boot < 2MiB, root < 3GiB
- SLE12: root < 3GiB, no swap, btrfs + snapshots < 12 Gib
- Status changed from In Progress to Resolved
As per our discussion, resolving this ticket as workarounds are removed and remaining parts will be covered in epic sub-tickets.
