Make transactional_server_snapper result independent of transactional_server_helper_apps
Added by JERiveraMoya almost 3 years ago.
Updated almost 3 years ago.
Target version:
SUSE QA - SLE 15 SP3
Description
Observation¶
openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP3-Online-ppc64le-transactional_server_snapper@ppc64le-hmc-single-disk fails in
verify_undelete_snapshots
We have dependency between both scenario, so one the first fails (it always run alphabetically in that order by design) then the other does not run correctly with the snapshots that finds.
Acceptance Criteria:¶
- transactional_server_snapper is not failing on 'verify_undelete_snapshots'.
Suggestions:¶
- Make
verify_undelete_snapshots
not to be dependent on exact amount of snapshots or clear snapshots at some stage, so that the amount of them will be predictable.
- Alternatively, split 'transactional_server_helper_apps' and 'transactional_server_snapper' to two different installations (to not depend on each other).
Test suite description¶
Test snapper features in a transactional update server
We need to make stable the test regarding the number of snapshots.
Reproducible¶
Fails since (at least) Build 186.1 (current job)
Expected result¶
Last good: 183.1 (or more recent)
Further details¶
Always latest result in this scenario: latest

The problem that caused the failure seems to be that the id number of currently mounted snapshot was not captured properly by the worker. This can be related to serial console issues. The above pull request is adding some more descriptive comments in the code, to avoid confusion next time we have to work on it.

This is an autogenerated message for openQA integration by the openqa_review script:
This bug is still referenced in a failing openQA test: transactional_server_snapper

To prevent further reminder comments one of the following options should be followed:
- The test scenario is fixed by applying the bug fix to the tested product or the test is adjusted
- The openQA job group is moved to "Released" or "EOL" (End-of-Life)
- The label in the openQA scenario is removed
