action #66784
closed[qe-core][opensuse][desktop] xrdp_server: login sequence
100%
Description
Observation¶
We have two needles matching 100%, one being 'pick the user' the other one 'other users'; until recently, openQA seems to have picked the gdm pick user needle (snapshot 0507), since 0508 openqa picks the other one but then seems not to handle the login completely.
I'd appreciate if somebody with knowledge of handle_login could look into that and stabilize this.
Acceptance criteria¶
- AC1: The fix works on all product supported versions (Tumbleweed, SLE15-SP2, Leap 15.2, SLE12-SP4)
Suggestions¶
- See function handle_login in lib/x11utils.pm
Reproducible¶

It seems that currently, the issue appears here: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1623522#step/xrdp_server/39
The needle doesn't match, as it expects the screen with the password field, but there is the screen with the username field.
That happens because there is the condition send_key "tab" if is_tumbleweed;
and it selects the not listed
, instead of the username that already exists.
By removing it, it works fine and there seems no issue with the handle_login
