Description
Observation¶
openQA test in scenario sle-12-SP4-Desktop-DVD-Updates-x86_64-qam-regression-message@64bit fails in
pidgin_IRC
It started failing yesterday and passed in the meantime, it looks like a freenode infrastructure
change, but we should be able to catch it.

maybe changing the code to assert_screen(qw[pidgin-spoofing-ip pidgin-ctcp-version pidgin-ready])
in a loop couple of times, reset the counter if pidgin-spoofing-ip is matched, soft-fail if pidgin-cctp-version is matched twice (and consider the test module done), otherwise keep on going if the pidgin-ready is matched

@GraceWang, what do you think, could we fix the code as Santi suggested?

It looks like SLED12SP4 is no longer officially maintained from https://www.suse.com/releasenotes/x86_64/SUSE-SLED/12-SP4/index.html#Intro.Lifecycle. And I didn't find Desktop related test suites under Maintenance: SLE 12 SP4 Updates (https://openqa.suse.de/group_overview/218) and Maintenance: SLE 12 SP5 Updates (https://openqa.suse.de/group_overview/280)
I went through the results history of qam-regression-message which is running in the group Maintenance: SLE 15 SP3 Updates( https://openqa.suse.de/group_overview/366) https://openqa.suse.de/tests/7987718#next_previous, and didn't find the failure records of pidgin_IRC
So, this issue can't be reproduced or might have been fixed when dealing with other tickets.
Given the above info, I think we can close this ticket for now and file a new ticket to track when we meet this issue in the future.
