A discussion regardingg this issue

fvogt, any idea about the "kdeinit5: Fatal IO error: client killed" from (xsession-errors.log) I don't see any other reason why https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/2255874#step/consoletest_finish/21 is failing
19<fvogt> lkocman: Probably a missing needle
20<lkocman>30 fvogt, let me report that. Thank you
18<fvogt18> The screenlocker is annoying to needle as it needs a screenshot right in the middle of attempts

The issue here is that opensuse_welcome.pm doesn't handle the upgrade scenarios, where the opensuse welcome has been already launched and unselected for the next startup during the creation of the qcow image used for the upgrade.
I am preparing a PR in the related issue poo#107620, which will also solve this ticket.

Needle created using dev mode in https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/2261455#live. For some reason the "Virtual keyboard" text has some slight differences.

This is an upgrade from 42.1, so opensuse-welcome shows up as expected. The failure here was in consoletest_finish, which is after the opensuse_welcome module.
