Description
Motivation¶
Our customers have a setup within private network without access to public internet. So connection to scc.suse.com fails for every installation due to self-update mechanism.
We were kindly asked to add a test for such scenario.
See https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1162903 and https://trello.com/c/5Qoy10HE/1642-5-sles15-sp2-p1-1162903-installer-is-probing-a-public-network-sccsusecom-and-is-showing-it-as-error-during-private-network-insta
In order to simulate same behavior following can be done:
- Start installation with
startshell=1
boot option - Edit /etc/hosts so that scc.suse.com is mapped to non-reachable ip address
- It's expected that error is not shown
