action #30115
closed[sle][functional][sle15][yast][medium] yast2_ftp failed - because firewall port cannot be opened
0%
Description
found yast2 ftp failed:
https://openqa.suse.de/tests/1372272#step/yast2_ftp/73
Need to investigate and provide a fix for it.
Last good: https://openqa.suse.de/tests/1425271
Many changes were there after last failure. Now test should work with firewalld and no issues with SuSEFirewall should be there.
Other change which has affected test suite is fonts update.
Acceptance criteria:
- Test works or fails on the bug which is hard to work around
- Extend test to verify that ftp actually works and has settings in the files, not just in the gui (optional)
Tasks:
- Verify functionality manually, if there is a bug, estimate workaround, or skip until bug is resolved
- If functionality works, fix the test

I doubt tickets like these add any value. We can already see that tests fail from openQA. Please apply a bit more effort for investigation.

@zluo I see that https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1081312 is not resolved, but we can easily soft-fail this one. Is it really blocked?

now it should be workable because susefirewall2 got removed, at least we can provide a workaround for this.

The latest test seems to progress further to https://openqa.suse.de/tests/1551561#step/yast2_ftp/123 but then fails. Is this something else?
Updated by mloviska almost 7 years ago
It seems that the test has skipped enable ssl options https://openqa.suse.de/tests/1551561#step/yast2_ftp/72. The same happen with TW Build20180314, however next 2 builds ran fine. I will try to trim $do_wait options in send key calls.

@mloviska, could you please check this failure here: https://openqa.suse.de/tests/1554516#step/yast2_ftp/124 it looks sporadic, I wonder if we can improve test or need to file a bug. I guess we haven't seen this issue before mainly because were not checking it.
Updated by mloviska almost 7 years ago
@riafarov
I am currently working on it, as you mentioned the issue is sporadic and sometimes the ssl options are skipped. As it is visible on below link.
https://openqa.suse.de/tests/1554516#step/yast2_ftp/74
I am trying to adjust the wait options for wait_screen_change & send_key functions, nevertheless the issue still appears.
