Dear OpenSuse,

We are VinaHost - Hosting Provider company and we would like to become your
mirror.

Our server is already mirror before, but when i run a command:

rsync -rlpt rsync.opensuse.org::opensuse-hotstuff-160gb /mirrors/opensuse/
--delete-after -hi --stats

It can't download anything, just download some directory with no data ? And
i check with link: http://www.poeml.de/~poeml/rsyncinfo-rsync.o.o.txt and
opensuse-hotstuff-160gb just have 0 bytes.

Can you tell me what i need to do more to become your mirror ? Please help
me.

Hi Alberto,

I need your help with the rsync module opensuse-hotstuff-160gb on rsync.opensuse.org.

When I do rsync on the stage server for examaple for 42.2 iso I got this:

rsync --list-only stage.opensuse.org::opensuse-hotstuff-160gb/distribution/leap/42.2/iso/
This is stage.opensuse.org, restricted rsync server of openSUSE.org.
drwxr-xr-x 46 2017/02/01 12:03:59 .
-rw-r--r-- 99,614,720 2016/11/09 11:10:38 openSUSE-Leap-42.2-NET-x86_64.iso

When I do the same for rsync I see only this:

This is rsync.opensuse.org, public rsync server of openSUSE.org,
limited to 50 connections.

Sure. My scripts only generate some files, named 160g, 30g, 320g, 640g and 80g. I can see the line

/distribution/leap/42.2/iso/openSUSE-Leap-42.2-NET-x86_64.iso

in the files 160g, 320g and 640g. Those files are copied to knapsacks@pontifex3-opensuse.suse.de::put-knapsacks and to knapsacks@widehat-opensuse.suse.de::put-knapsacks.

In both servers there is an script named update-rsync that create links from the real data to the rsync module. I wonder if this script is running in the second server.

rsync your repo ?
I also try to rsync all your repo from rsync.opensuse.org::opensuse-stable
to http://mirrors.vinahost.vn/opensuse/stable/

the IP that you stated is not the IP your mirror has

Hello,

Can you please check again. After running this command:

rsync -rlpt stage.opensuse.org::opensuse-hotstuff-160gb /mirrors/opensuse/
--progress

it always return error:

rsync: failed to connect to stage.opensuse.org (195.135.221.130): Operation
timed out (60)
rsync: failed to connect to stage.opensuse.org (2001:67c:2178:8::10): No
route to host (65)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(125)
[Receiver=3.1.2]

Our server is mirrors.vinahost.vn

i dont see the given ip in our logs either. you sure that is absolutly the right one?

I added your mirror now to our database, so at least it can be found by users.

Please note that your FTP server - even is set as "anonymous" - does not allow to log in with the standard anonymous credentials: you might want to have a look at this.

I also could not identify any rsync module for our mirror scanner, so we need to fall back to scanning via http, which is way slower than scanning via rsync. So I like to ask if you could provide us with an rsync module that can be used to scan your machine? It neither has to be public nor world readable: if you like, just allow access from the IP range 195.135.220.0/22 (official SUSE range, our scanner scans from one of those IPs).

I allowed the following IPs/DNS entries now to connect to our rsync modules on stage.opensuse.org (please check, if the mirror(WITHOUT_s).vinahost.vn is really valid):

  • mirrors.vinahost.vn
  • 123.30.129.186
  • mirror.vinahost.vn
  • 125.212.220.48

Please ping back if you can successfully sync the files and/or if you setup the rsync module for our scanner. Thanks!
