I have started to collect scenarios specific for that NetworkManager
without sysconfig-netconfig
case, see: https://confluence.suse.com/display/~cfconrad/SUSE%3AALP+NetworkManager+and+sysconfig-netconfig
These are really basic, but I still think it's a good starting point. Click on the Test-steps
drop down in the Test Matrix to see what I have tried.

I could not start the WLAN test due to below setup issues,
- Failed to setup wifi interfaces due to the error,
localhost:~ # modprobe mac80211_hwsim radios=2
modprobe: FATAL: Module mac80211_hwsim not found in directory /lib/modules/6.0.8-8-default
- Packages
hostapd
and iw are missing, so can not create a virtual access point.
#transactional-update pkg install hostapd iw
'hostapd' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of 'hostapd' found.
'iw' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of 'iw' found.
wpa_supplicant and dnsmasq tools are available.

Richard, what happens to the system if /etc/sysconfig/network doesn't exist?
Currently, '/etc/sysconfig/network' shows up on the ALP system, I tried to remove the folder, and didn't see any obvious issues so far
