Description

Observation

openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP3-Desktop-DVD-Updates-x86_64-qam-regression-installation-SLED@64bit fails in
welcome

due to a rogue RMT server popped up, blocking maintenance tests on the SCC/RMT selection dialog

Test suite description

  • autoyast commented out - needs tuning in main.pm

Reproducible

Fails since today, i.e. Build 20210625-1 (current job)

Expected result

Last good: 20210624-2 (or more recent)

Suggestions

  • DONE: configure the reg url to explicitly point to scc.suse.com to skip the dialog -> #94714
  • Why use the interactive GUI interactive installer for maintenance tests at all? -> see test suite description
  • Why reinstall that often when we just want to apply patches on top?

Further details

Always latest result in this scenario: latest

Trying out if we can force the regurl to all maintenance tests:

https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse/pull/12789 created. As we have likely thousands of tests currently failing due to a rogue SCC server and I have not seen an update on the issue by others I will merge now myself without explicit approval.

Not failing anymore. Also, it was related to the environment issues, not something related to test.

In general, test for accepting license should not be aware of some popups related to additional reg server. It should be covered explicitly in specific test suite with specific environment setup, and in single place rather then in all the tests suites. So, closing this ticket and we'll consider adding the specific test for additional reg server.
