Description
since last weekend (6./7.06.20) the halifax mirror for the Leap 15.1
update repo (
http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/opensuse/update/leap/15.1/oss/repodata/
) hasn't a necessary deltainfo.xml.gz file.
Here the error, which a "zypper ref" is showing today (9.06.20 22:15)
Repository 'openSUSE-15.1-Update' is invalid.

The push process only operates on repositories/ which do change very rapidly. I would not expect update/leap/ to change very rapidly.
I don't see how I can change anything on ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de to
help. The rsync job is setup correctly, it's OpenSUSE's responsibility
to provide the required files.
I agree - right now, I see the deltainfo at download.o.o:
and it doesn't exist on halifax, in fact on one single mirror, rsync.o.o.

It's not only the halifax mirror from RWTH Aachen. I've looked on 2 other german opensuse mirrors (HS Esslingen, Uni Kaiserslautern) and the deltainfo.xml.gz file (checked at 10.06. 18:10 http://mirror1.hs-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.1/oss/repodata/) is also missing on one of these mirrors.
Maybe it would be worth to evaluate such race conditions, because the rsync push is executed on the SUSE side and without automatic mirror content validation and initiated mirror syncs this problem remains until a new file will be pushed.

We only run push for repositories/ - update/ is not being pushed out, that is subject to the mirrors pulling themselves. We also actively scan mirrors to validate.

A side note: The mirror ftp.funet.fi seems to be up-to-date. The other mirrors I checked (RWTH Aachen, GDGW, TU Chemnitz, Uni Leipzig) all have more or less actual data, but do not seem to update the -deltainfo.gz file.
Do these mirrors use different staging paths?
