closed[functional][y][rt] Install SLES with RT+SDK (development tools) as modules
0%
Description
Motivation¶
After conducting simple installation of RT as product, we need to install SLES with RT and SDK enabled
Acceptance criteria¶
- Test scenario which performs installation of the RT + Development tools module is added for SLE 15 SP1 in the YaST job group
- Test module validating installation is scheduled after installation is conducted
- If basic test works, image of the installed system is published as asset
Suggestions¶
See INSTALLATION_VALIDATION
variable in tests documentation.

Basically we need to resurrect https://openqa.suse.de/tests/2226733#.
I think we can start with selecting RT as a product and SDK as a module in installer.
The other 2 test scenarios (select RT and SDK as a module) and registering these modules on already installed sle15sp1, can be done later.

Hmm, just 2 concerns, I'm still in a discussion to get the requirements for the RT testing and secondly I'm not sure if oorlov has added normal installation already, as it's a starting point. So, do not spend too much time on it yet.

As long as, Alex is working on installing RT as product, I can still go for the modules option.

Still, take a look on hit PR, because you need part which he has already done, secondly, we still are not clear what to test. Therefore, it may not be needed to have exactly this test suite automated. I would strongly recommend not to do any automation at this point of time and get feedback from RT PM, namely Jeffrey. Just keep it in mind ;)

- Status changed from Workable to Blocked
- Target version set to Milestone 21
So I assume we are waiting for #43373 first, right?

Above issue appears when selecting product SLES instead of SLERT and adding RT as additional Add On product. As of now, RT is not available among extensions and modules list.

AFAIR, we agreed with Jeffrey, that it's enough to cover using RT as a product, so actually it's covered by default installation: https://openqa.suse.de/tests/2280268#step/scc_registration/7
Do you remember it differently? Anyway, I would file a bug to get it clear...

Yes, and it should not be. See https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1115174 and the PRD for explanation. As of know the subject line of this ticket is invalid because we should not be able to install SLES with RT, only SLE RT as its own module. Please reopen if you have more information that conflicts with my assessment

You are right, I have mistaken this with https://bugzilla.suse.com/tr_show_case.cgi?case_id=1612407, which is additional installation of RT on already installed SLES.
I have discussed this with Tomas, and we both remember that Jeffrey also mentioned that we should follow https://bugzilla.suse.com/tr_show_run.cgi?run_id=72325, except of the migration and HA/GEO part.

Yes, we definitely need to cover offline installation using all packages DVD, and migration once we are clear on the requirements.
