Description
Summary¶
We need up to date wiki pages for the QALabs.
This includes how things work when it comes to the reservation of machines, managing hardware inside the labs and so on.
Linklist for existing pages¶
- ppc resources -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/SUSE/QA_SLE_PPC_Infrastructure
- "testnet" -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/RD-OPS_QA/Resources/testnet (check if outdated)
- install server -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/RD-OPS_QA/Resources/Install_Server (probably outdated)
- QA storage -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/File:SUSE-QA-Resources-rdqa-storage.jpg (check if outdated)
- qa-lab (wth is this page, never seen?) -> http://qa.suse.de/qalab.php
- RemoteConsole QA machines -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php?title=SUSE-Quality_Assurance/RemoteConsole_QA_machines
- Automation Handbook -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/RD-OPS_QA/Automation/Handbook/GettingStarted (probably move some information from here)
- Remote Server Access Prague -> https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/RD-OPS_QA/HowTos/RemoteServerAccessPrague (probably outdated)
- Temperature monitoring QA LABS -> http://qa.nue.suse.com/temperature/ (check which script this is and probably tweak it)
Other resources that might go to the wiki page:
- Rackspace for all QA Machines -> https://racktables.nue.suse.com/index.php?andor=and&cft%5B%5D=22&cfe=&page=rackspace&tab=default

This is not true. The wiki just moved to https://wiki.suse.net
hence the mentioned page is now
https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/SUSE-Quality_Assurance/Labs/Overview
Unfortunately you are not the only one misinformed :(

Can we clarify what's missing now? https://wiki.suse.net/index.php?title=SUSE-Quality_Assurance/Labs should be the current page, right? What's still missing?

I'd say everything is clear and workable now

2021-02-12)
Unsetting the due date since I think there's no active work being done here. I'm still unclear what's to be done here.

let's get this over with. As we had that already discussed last week in video chat as well, a wiki is often a better place for storing the current collection of information rather than a ticket. I have crosschecked all links on https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/SUSE-Quality_Assurance/Labs and added the racktables link which was mentioned here but not on the wiki. I think there was heavy misinformation and coordination f*up when confluence was introduced. wiki.suse.net never went away and is live. All the information there is as current as people keep it current and confluence is not less of a mess. TL;DR: https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/SUSE-Quality_Assurance/Labs is the current best place
