Description
Motivation¶
#175716 verified all IPMI machines in FC basement. I found that monkey3 and merckx fail quite early:
At least monkey3 worked ~1y ago: See #136262
Acceptance criteria¶
- AC1: "monkey3" and "merckx" are used for production bare-metal testing.
Suggestions¶
- Verify the current setup. Assuming these machines were working a year ago.
- These are used for baremetal tests. Crosscheck the information from https://gitlab.suse.de/openqa/salt-pillars-openqa/-/blob/master/openqa/workerconf.sls about those two machines
- Work together with someone from the kernel team (suggestion @MMoese) about merckx
- Check what was done in https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/136262

Obviously, there is nothing listening on baremetal-support.qa.suse.de:8080 where the support service ist expected..
Thx, that makes sense. I guess the setting for IPXE_HTTPSERVER should be in the worker config as only the worker really can know in which network it resides and where it should get its IPXE data from. Meanwhile https://openqa.suse.de/tests/16844435 has progressed well within the installer using IPXE_HTTPSERVER=http://baremetal-support.qe.nue2.suse.org
Corresponding job for merckx now
openqa-clone-job --skip-chained-deps --within-instance https://openqa.suse.de/tests/16726520 _GROUP=0 {TEST,BUILD}+=-merckx IPXE_HTTPSERVER=http://baremetal-support.qe.nue2.suse.org
-> https://openqa.suse.de/tests/16844451
also in the installer now.
