closedError when accessing Wiki - MWException
0%
Description
Good morning,
When I try to login in the wiki I get Internal error and then:
[0c31c0d793a0fc7b1219adee] 2022-07-14 10:12:45: Fatal exception of type "MWException"
I have attached a screenshot.
My user is johnf and my email is johnf@sousafalcao.pt
I have submited a bug report (1201362) but on the telegram channel I was told to send an email instead. Apologies if it's not the right procedure.
Is it possible to fix it or should I just create a new account?
Let me know if anything else is needed.
Thank you in advance.
All the best,
João Falcão

I have enabled debug logging for your account.
Can you please try to login again? (You'll still get an exception, but this time it will create a log that helps to solve the problem.)

Thanks! As Per already guessed, there was a problem with updating your mail address. I updated it manually now.
Please try again to login - in theory it should work now ;-)

Yeah, all good now. Thank you so much! Was it my fault or did I do anything wrong?

- Status changed from New to Resolved
Not your fault ;-)
The wiki database stores your mail address (for example to send you notifications if a page you watch gets changed), and the mail address should get updated when you log in. However, there seems to be a bug in the new MediaWiki (or the login extension) that prevents this update, and errors out instead.
Funnily executing the very same SQL query manually works without problems. After that, there is nothing left to change on login, so login works again.
