debug and fix uefi test case failures in openQA
Added by lnussel over 11 years ago.
Updated about 11 years ago.
Description
UEFI test cases fail atm and need to be fixed.
Maybe the firmware is broken and an older version needs to be used.
Also, qemu was updated to a more recent version than we had before.
Running locally with old KVM and new firmware. Will test with new qemu also.

With qemu 1.6.0 and the new OVMF I got it to boot in my machine. Still the openqa machine doesn't work
The combination of a machine that does not support EPT (looks like a intel feature, opensuseqa is amd), qemu 1.6 and OVMF causes the black screen. Work is going on upstream to fix the issue in a general way in the kvm kernel module. Also, OVMF upstream is working on implementing a workaround.

I filed bnc#841106 to track the failure of ovmf on amd
bnc#824609 still prevents uefi test success even on machines where ovmf works
meanwhile ovmf has been fixed. a fix for perl-Bootloader is on the way
