Description

Hello,

We operate "mirror.liteserver.nl" located in the Netherlands, and are
willing to add openSUSE.
We'd like to start syncing from the stage rsync server, as this rsync
server has the "opensuse-hotstuff" modules which we'd like to use. We
most likely going to mirror 'opensuse-hotstuff-640gb' to use our storage
more efficient.
Is the hotstuff-640gb module really covering most of the requests /
bandwidth? We have plenty of bandwidth available (10GE), so we're happy
to mirror other modules if they have a lot of traffic to help spreading
the load across the other mirrors. We just like to avoid mirroring
content that's not having much requests/bandwidth usage to avoid
unneeded storage usage of content that's basically not being accessed.

The IP addresses of our mirror server are:
IPv4: 185.31.172.243
IPv6: 2a01:6340:1:20::243

With kind regards,

LiteServer Mirror Admin

Hi there,

many thanks for volunteering your time and resources to help us with mirroring!
First of all, I'll need some more details - see https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Mirror_infrastructure#Registering_your_mirror
Second, the hotstuff modules are currently not being generated, I suggest you use e.g. "opensuse-full-really-everything" and add excludes for the bits you don't want to mirror.
Third - please make sure those IP addresses map back to the server name you will be rsync'ing from, we try to authorise by name rather than address.

thanks,
Per
