closed[functional][u][ppc64le] test fails in user_defined_snapshot - just not waiting long enough for grub menu
0%
Description
Observation¶
openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP1-Installer-DVD-ppc64le-extra_tests_on_gnome@ppc64le fails in
user_defined_snapshot
looking for "grub2" but times out but then the grub menu just shows up afterwards so we should need to wait longer (possibly with bug reference).
Reproducible¶
Fails since (at least) Build 126.1
Expected result¶
Last good: 125.1 (or more recent)
Further details¶
Always latest result in this scenario: latest

A timeout bump should be sufficient here
Actually I still have a PR open from https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/43064, this might be related

Yes, the observation already stated "timeout increase + bugref". I have commented in your PR as well. Please reference the progress ticket you mentioned properly as a "related issue" or even close this one as duplicate and move further with the former one. Hint: Reference progress tickets always in the format #<id>
instead of full URLs so that we can see the status directly (strike-through for closed tickets) and the subject line on hover.

- Related to action #43064: [functional][u] test fails in boot_into_snapshot and reboot_gnome with encrypted setup - test not waiting long enough for shutdown/reboot until we end up in grub which shows in post_fail_hook added

https://openqa.suse.de/tests/2394136#step/user_defined_snapshot/27 shows the problem with reboot from user_defined_snapshot. Default timeout of 30 seconds might be not enough.

As discussed in the PR, I increased the default timeout to 300 seconds because we should use the worst case by default
