Motivation

With wayland the term "x11" or "X" is not equivalent anymore to a graphical environment. We should think about changing that.

Suggestions

  • Could be "gui"?

The name "gui" sounds reasonable to me. I spotted three places might be relevant:

  1. tests/x11
    Currently "Functional" testing group has cases from the directory

  2. tests/x11regressions
    Currently "Desktop Applications" testing group has cases from the directory

  3. tests/yast2_gui
    YaST specific tests, it is listed here just because the name "gui" appended.

So before moving to "gui" naming convention, maybe we also want to take the opportunity
make a clear boundary between x11 and x11regressions, or even make a decision to merge
them.

In addition, yast2_gui might be merged to either 1 or 2 since it is so important for a
general SUSE gui tool set.
