Description

Observation

The KDE/Live/Wayland test seems to be very fragile to the point of failing in different ways.

  • start_wayland_plasma5 not succeeding
  • firefox hanging

Looking at just the last 10 runs, the number of fails were 100%, but with variations of failures.

Would be great to stabilize this

openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-KDE-Live-x86_64-kde-live-wayland@64bit_virtio-3G fails in
start_wayland_plasma5

Test suite description

Like kde-live, but switches to a wayland session.

EXCLUDE_MODULES=glibc_sanity,salt,prepare_test_data setting moved to the medium (different between Leap and TW)

Reproducible

Fails since (at least) Build 20240311

Expected result

Last good: 20240310 (or more recent)

Further details

Always latest result in this scenario: latest

firefox hanging

Needs QEMUCPUS=2, see https://github.com/os-autoinst/opensuse-jobgroups/pull/451

start_wayland_plasma5 not succeeding

Looks like the kernel hangs -> product bug.

QEMUCPUS=2 might help here as well: If one cpu gets stuck, the system should still be responsive enough to get information.

That did work. journal attached.

This is an autogenerated message for openQA integration by the openqa_review script:

This bug is still referenced in a failing openQA test: kde-live-wayland@64bit_virtio-3G
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/4234356#step/start_wayland_plasma5/1

To prevent further reminder comments one of the following options should be followed:

  1. The test scenario is fixed by applying the bug fix to the tested product or the test is adjusted
  2. The openQA job group is moved to "Released" or "EOL" (End-of-Life)
  3. The bugref in the openQA scenario is removed or replaced, e.g. label:wontfix:boo1234

Expect the next reminder at the earliest in 28 days if nothing changes in this ticket.
