closedQA (public) - coordination #121720: [saga][epic] Migration to QE setup in PRG2+NUE3 while ensuring availability
QA (public) - coordination #129280: [epic] Move from SUSE NUE1 (Maxtorhof) to new NBG Datacenters
coordination #131519: [epic] Additional redundancy for OSD virtualization testing
Additional redundancy for OSD virtualization testing - Hyperv 2019 and 2022 (or 2012r2) worker host size:M
100%
Description
Motivation¶
Similar to #131549 but QE Virt wants to test on other Windows Server HyperV versions as well, e.g. 2019 and 2022.
Acceptance Criteria¶
- AC1: There is a 2nd windows box to run Hyper-V based tests on
- AC2: Ensure that we have proper documentation how to do this in the future
Suggestions¶
- Let's start from win2022 (unreal4), if hardware can meet test requirement.
- Wait for #131549 first to know how to do it and how hardware is usable
- Pick two of the free blades of unreal.qe.nue2.suse.org, unreal4+5, see https://wiki.suse.net/index.php/SUSE-Quality_Assurance/Labs and https://racktables.nue.suse.com/index.php?page=object&tab=default&object_id=2232 and https://racktables.nue.suse.com/index.php?page=object&tab=default&object_id=2234
- Follow #131549 but setup unreal4+5 for two other supported HyperV versions to test on
- Ensure how according openQA tests work

@rcai Hi Roy, FYI. We can try to use unreal4 for win2022 setup in OSD.

Got the same issue with hyperv2016, HyperV 2019 is also not compatible with the unreal machine.

Did you research online if there are any hints regarding Windows Server installations on those machines? Each server is a Supermicro X10SLD-F https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/X10SLD-F

Thanks for reminder! I saw the official web site provides the drivers CD for Windows server 2016 and 2019. Will take a try.

It's not lucky. From the drivers CD (CDR-X10-UP_1.20_for_Intel_X10_UP_platform.iso), there is no any available driver can be found during installation.
