Observation

In an empty directory:

$ isotovideo -d
[2023-04-24T13:30:51.754811+02:00] [debug] [pid:25216] Current version is 4.6.1679419381.956c72b [interface v37]
25216: EXIT 1

I am pretty sure some time ago isotovideo still told about the error source

Expected result

isotovideo -d should tell the user what is wrong

merged. Confirmed locally with isotovideo -d in a directory without vars.json and no casedir set.
