Description

Hi,

As per title, the error is "A000004 NO authentication failed"
This worked fine last night.
I tried webmail.1and1.com ( which has worked in the past ) redirects to
mail.ionos.com which gives "An error has occurred.
This e-mail address could not be found or the password is incorrect."

There have been absolutely no changes from my side, other email addresses work
fine, so it's not a kmail problem.

Please handle urgently,

Thanks in advance,

Gertjan Lettink a.k.a. Knurpht.

Hi Gertjan

is this really about the openSUSE infrastructure?

Yes. AFAIK. There's another report, from user hcvv . Inbetween the working situation and the reported error nothing was updated, changed on my side, some weeks ago I was able to login on the webmail interface as described . Now it doesn't. I tried on the webmail interface to request for change of the email password, but it says I don't have an ionos/1and1 account so I should contact the admins of the mailserver. Which IME are the heroes.

The thing is - we only forward mails from o.o addresses to the users' personal addresses. We don't operate any webmail or imap servers.

I know, but years ago, when I became a member, I received the credentials to use the webmail services of 1and1.com, with the username knurpht@opensuse-forums.org and a password. 1and1.com provided this as a service to the openSUSE members. This has always worked until today. So, I filtered all @o.o emails to that the incoming email account to the @o.o account on 1and1.com, and used the smtp.1and1.com to send emails with @o.o account, and connected a nice email app on my phone to it too. AFAIK user hcvv uses it like that too, but I would have to ask.

Not as far as I am aware. We have had negotiations with other providers, but not 1&1. Also, "opensuse-forums.org" is not one of "our" domains, I don't know who operates it.

Mails to "opensuse-forums-org" are delivered directly to 1and1. I suggest you contact their helpdesk. Or contact whoever gave you the access credentials ?
