Hi Fantastic admin's,

Would you be able to modify the description of the opensuse@opensuse.org

Thanks

  • Category set to Email
  • Private changed from Yes to No

I could update that, but I don't think I want to. I was not aware that its purpose has changed.

This was a decision made by the board so I was asking on behalf of them,
the "support" part is moving to the opensuse-support@ mailing list.

I would prefer to see the official announcement of that first. Your postings the other day made no mention of any change of purpose for opensuse@o.o.

Btw, we also have a number of lists with the same purpose, but in various national languages:

opensuse-cz
opensuse-da
opensuse-de
opensuse-el
opensuse-es
opensuse-fr
opensuse-hu
opensuse-it
opensuse-ja
opensuse-nl
opensuse-pl
opensuse-pt
opensuse-ru
opensuse-zh

Well the official announcement covered that we are moving all support to
the opensuse-support@ mailinglist which implicitly means that user
support is no longer part of the role of opensuse@. The board chose not
to discuss or decide on what the role of opensuse@ would be into the
future we decided to wait and see what impact our current changes will
have before doing that.

Cheers

I'm sorry, but I see no such implication. Please post an official announcement that opensuse@o.o is no longer available for user-to-user support, and I'll make the change.

The board chose not
to discuss or decide on what the role of opensuse@ would be into the
future we decided to wait and see what impact our current changes will
have before doing that.

Ergo, nothing has changed wrt the role of opensuse@o.o. Feel free to reopen when something does change.
