This started happening as Ludwig just recently switched the used based disk image to be fully updated - which in turn leaves less space available for the upgraded OS

latest jobs look fine, e.g. https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/687795 . Did someone already change something?

Well, I would not state that the scenario is very stable but at least 3 jobs in a row do not fail any more looking at https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/697596 and previous and the failures in before do not show a relation to "out of disk space" so I assume we are done here.
