[openSUSEway] Request to create matrix room & telegram bridge
Added by kskarthik 24 days ago.
Updated 1 day ago.
Description
I was discussing with @fbonazzi about having a openSUSEway room on our matrix space & also bridge it to telegram.
This facilitates the matrix users who are not on telegram to participate in the project.
wiki page: https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:OpenSUSEway
- Tracker changed from communication to tickets
- Private changed from Yes to No
- Checklist item changed from Add it to our matrix space to Add the matrix room to our openSUSE matrix space
- Tracker changed from tickets to communication
- Tracker changed from communication to tickets
Please also bridge to IRC. :)

as you wish!
How much of this is stuff that I could do myself?
The only channel we have so far (for historical reasons) is on Telegram https://t.me/openSUSEway
For the bridge with telegram, I will need you to add @openSUSEMatrixBot on telegram to your channel
I did that, but the bot does not show up in the channel members. Does someone need to accept an invite on the bot end?
https://matrix.to/#/#opensuseway:opensuse.org
Maybe I'm confused, but how do I see this on chat.o.o?

It should join automatically, the bot doesn't have any capabilities to manage invites on our side

You can type in #opensuseway:opensuse.org
in the search bar
- Status changed from New to In Progress
Ok I managed to add the bot to the channel (I needed to be channel admin and somehow I wasn't).

@crameleon want to add to IRC as well?
I wonder what to call the channel on Libera, #openSUSE-openSUSEway
is a bit redundant, and #openSUSE-way
looks a bit weird. ;-) We could do only #openSUSEway
but I will have to send them an email to register it to our namespace because it wouldn't use our namespace prefix (though it shouldn't be a problem, we do the same for two other channels already). Any preference?
#openSUSE-openSUSEway
sounds fine to me, it's a bit redundant but I don't care. That's what it's called. And I expect/hope that not too many people will use the IRC room anyway
Ok, I registered #openSUSE-openSUSEway, please add to the bridge.
