The 12sp5 maintenance updates cannot be installed if VERSION=15-SP3, during patching as the repositories are added by the osd bot for tests with VERSION=12-SP5, so there is a support image added in the above MR for 12sp5 including maintenance updates and the migration happens after booting into the published disk.

Comparing create_hdd_yast_maintenance_desktop ay profile with qam-gnome and checking the patching of the second test that adds the mu repos , it seems that there is no update to be installed (see https://openqa.suse.de/tests/14010460#step/patch_and_reboot/136 ). So we can safely use the yast mu published hdd unchanged for migration from 12.5 to 15.3.
Update: The add_on_others with add_on_products does not work the same way. Additional PR to enchance the published hdd to contain the mu updates: https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse/pull/19103/files
