progressoo - ipv6 no connection
Added by pjessen 7 months ago.
Updated 6 months ago.
Description
I see that progressoo has been moved:
per@office68:~> host progressoo.infra.opensuse.org
progressoo.infra.opensuse.org has address 172.16.164.139
progressoo.infra.opensuse.org has IPv6 address 2a07:de40:b27e:1203::b17
Right now I am unable to log in over that IPv6 address, I can't even ping it. It just means 'ssh progressoo' taking a long time. Shouldn't 2a07:de40:b27e:1203::b17
be reachable over the vpn?
- Private changed from Yes to No
Hi Per,
I will bring this up in the Heroes meeting. If you use IPv6 in your local network, you need to use ssh -4
(or set it in your ssh_config for *.infra.opensuse.org) to connect to machines migrated to PRG2, since our VPN gateway has not yet been migrated and can only provide IPv4 routes until then. Otherwise your client will try to route our IPv6 networks to the internet.
You can also use ssh -A4 thor1.infra.opensuse.org
as a bastion host if needed.

Yeah, I figured that out pretty quickly. I wonder what the config option might be called?

AddressFamily inet (for ipv4)
AddressFamily inet (for ipv4)
That sounds right. :)
Just add a comment to remove it once we migrated the VPN ...
- Status changed from New to Closed
Closing as there is no problem with progressoo.i.o.o.
