SLE 15 SP5 Manual Testing PublicRC-202304
0%
Description
Motivation¶
See parent ticket.
Acceptance criteria¶
AC1: Conduct manual exploratory testing of YaST using corresponding build. Scope is Installer and YaST modules on the installed system.
AC2: Report found issues to bugzilla with the detailed steps to reproduce and reference it here.
AC3: Briefly describe the covered scenarios in this ticket.
Additional information¶
- The kind of testing for this task is Exploratory testing but in case you need inspiration, you can take a look to this spreadsheet, but this activity is time-constrained so just take it as a reference, no need for following it strictly.
- As an agreement we don't test all the architecture/backend for each milestone, so we will be rotating the architecture/backend for each milestone, please consider to pick one different for each build. The architecture considered and the instructions for having running the vm in each one of them is in our Manual Testing guide

Did some testing on PowerVM, no issues found except that the repository for SLE 15 SP5 on the IBM side for the Advanced PowerVM Tools is not yet ready. But that should not be considered as a bug.
Also updated the manual testing guide in confluence since it contained outdated information about the username and password for PowerVM administration.

Did some manual testing on Build 93.2 too, also PowerVM. No problems observed.

could you please cover AC3 as we usually have done in other ticket with a bit more of description about what was tested (very briefly but at least some if possible), just for the curiosity of the RM/PM or other stakeholders as I link this ticket to the final report for PublicRC.

Tested scenarios:
- Default installation with Desktop Module
- Installation with additional modules for PowerVM (those are supplied by IBM and not yet available, therefore we ran into a repo error)
- Installation with guided partitioning, no /home partition, swap to RAM siz
- Installation with Development packagages, Legacy packages
- Installation with guided partitioning on LVM and encrypted hard disk
