Description

Motivation¶

We should be able to save some electricity by leaving machines powered off when not in use.

Acceptance criteria¶

AC1: Machines in NUE-FC-B-1 are configured to default to power-off over IPMI after power reconnect

Suggestions¶

Lookup the according commands to configure defaults, e.g. we have an older ticket where we did similar work
Don't worry about issues with reliability of IPMI, we have people in the lab semi-regularly

Out of scope¶

Any machines not yet in that location

we should only configure default pwoer-off for machines with a proper, working BMC/IPMI connection. Otherwise we have no way to remote power-cycle them if something goes wrong (e.g. see yesterdays required reboot of qanet)
