The issue should have something to do with https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1205518.

And as discussed with Zhaocong, the original issue should happen at test module 'user_gui_login'.

We may try some workaround like:

  1. Carry out the test prior to 'user_gui_login'[but the later cases should be impacted by this issue]
  2. Restart 'gdm' or reboot the VM before carrying out the 'xterm' test
  3. Restart VM in test module 'user_gui_login'

My changes in the PR https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse/pull/16219 is breaking few other xterm test in non-gnome desktop. So, I updated the code as suggested in https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse/pull/16244 and doing few VRs.

Even after the PR#16272, I am seeing inconsistent results in the xterm test. So I am unassigning myself and Jozef is looking into this issue.
Thank you.
