Calling clone_job with a non-existing job-number or wrong host yields error message

Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /usr/share/openqa/script/clone_job.pl line 226.

suggestion

Give a better error message

I'm getting failed to get job: 404 Not Found at ./script/clone_job.pl line 197. when the job can not be found and failed to get job: Can't connect: Der Name oder der Dienst ist nicht bekannt at ./script/clone_job.pl line 197. when the server can not be found. This can still be improved but is ok. Maybe the error in your case is printed for another reason?
