I expect that a decision regarding taking over responsibility on the side of SUSE-IT EngInfra takes longer so at the latest on the next due date we could bump the ticket and also inform Lazaros that we are still waiting for this.

Eng-Infra will be able to provide DHCP+DNS services. Awaiting details

I had written one comment in the ticket and after another month without update I escalated in #suse-it-ama and then Zuzana Vodova "escalated" in the ticket by asking mcaj for an update on 2023-01-18. Again there is no update yet for another week so it seems we need to wait longer. As we learned Eng-Infra has mostly person-assigned tasks and not really team-wide tasks so unless this is super-time-critical, which it is not, we should be graceful a bit longer :)

Discussed with mcaj today. He plans to work on it right now.

mcaj provides PXE now from the VM fozziebear.qe.suse.de within the domain .qe.suse.de. The configuration resides within https://gitlab.suse.de/OPS-Service/salt/-/tree/production/salt/profile/pxe
As there are no machines yet in that domain maintained by SUSE QE Tools I asked in https://suse.slack.com/archives/C02CANHLANP/p1675855098260989
@Dario Abatianni @Martin Pluskal @Antonios Pappas as contact persons for our only physical machines within the domain .qe.suse.de as visible over https://racktables.nue.suse.com/?page=search&last_page=index&last_tab=default&q=.qe.suse.de can any one of you test if PXE works there? This is for https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/117043

mcaj contacted me by DM:
(Martin Caj) BTW about setup in the FC Basement, would you prefer to have similar setup as we have in the old server room ? That is: a DHCP/DNS server for the qe domain managed by our team. Will be one vlan/domain fit you your needs there or is there any need to split it ?
(Oliver Kurz) Similar setup as in old server room. There is already a Eng-Infra maintained VM called "qa-jump" 10.168.192.1. I think Georg Pfützenreuter set it up and Gerhard Schlotter is also aware. Regarding VLAN/Domain I think it would be best to reserve two VLANs so that we can separate QE-mgmt from QE-prd later as needed. If that's not possible/feasible/useful then one VLAN will sufficeansweredSimilar setup as in old server room. There is already a Eng-Infra maintained VM called "qa-jump" 10.168.192.1. With the VM provided by Eng-Infra and as we know how to provide merge requests we can resolve this. The specific implementation for FC Basement will happen in #119551
