openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP4-Full-s390x-select_modules_and_patterns+registration@rakoenig/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse#s390_gui_shutdown@s390x-zVM-vswitch-l2 fails in
shutdown
Background¶
When working on this ticket I experienced that performing an
x11_shutdown on s390 did not work. See the final comment on this issue.
The test above is a "proof of failure", code is modified in that branch to perform an x11_shutdown and it fails as expected.

zVM is different than zkvm, actually shutdown is working, but to check status of shutdown is not possible if all connections have been closed, we still have an issue which is not reproducible at moment: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1055462
We have to live with this issue if shutdown takes much longer.

PR got updated now. fix for shutdown on zVM and zKVM is provided.
