Description
Observation¶
Emails from unknown senders not subscribed to the list with no meaningful content arrive on our internal mailing list.
Particular instances observed on February 13 and Feburary 14.
Suggestions¶
- Don't allow emails from senders not subscribed to the list
- Target version set to Ready
ok. Please go ahead and just do that change on the administrative interface.
By the way, this won't stop spam as we would still need to moderate such messages.

So we have the same settings on osd-admins as on o3-admins now. As I stated this does not prevent junk messages to reach ML admins but the past days I have seen none. Maybe something was fixed on the side of spam filtering server side in the meantime.
As discussed in https://suse.slack.com/archives/C02AJ1E568M/p1653310102875819 we chose to go back to an open ML
I vote to open OSD-admins again without moderation. Given it is our best approach to do "team-wide communication over e-mail" it is somehow expected that many people are not part of the list itself who write there. In the time while the list was closed I saw a lot less spam mails then valid mails and approving them by hand is really annoying and can swallow information. WDYT?
So I changed the ML configuration to be open again.
