Description

Motivation

Because of #88195 and because we currently don't have staging machines for all of the setups used in produciton, we want to deploy changes on select machines from time to time. Usually it means a branch with changes that haven't been merged to the default branch yet. However we have no scripts, CI pipeline or documented workflow for this.

Acceptance criteria

  • AC1: A production machine can easily be updated from a branch

Suggestions

  • Document steps for "staged deployments" in the wiki
  • Provide a script that targets one or multiple machines
  • Configure new or existing CI for "staged deployment"
