Description

The openSUSE Discord server shows a brief overview of rules to follow when one joins it. It would be good to have that at lists-o-o as well.
I could not find the page's code to make a pull request so here's the text I would add:

<h1>Mailing List Rules</h1>
<h2>In Brief</h2>
<ul>
  <li>Be polite, be helpful</li>
  <li>Ask questions</li>
  <li>Use correct language for the list (default is English)</li>
  <li>Don't spam</li>
  <li>Avoid personal insults/discrimination</li>
  <li>No NSFW/NSFL posts</li>
</ul>

<h2>Conduct<h2>
The openSUSE project's code of conduct is embodied in the following paragraph from the Guiding Principles:

[We value]... respect for other persons and their contributions, for other opinions and beliefs. We listen to arguments and address problems in a constructive and open way. We believe that a diverse community based on mutual respect is the base for a creative and productive environment enabling the project to be truly successful. We don't tolerate social discrimination and aim at creating an environment where people feel accepted and safe from offense.

Whom do I need to nudge about that?

I don't know quite what you are after. Why isn't https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Mailing_list_netiquette sufficient ? lists.o.o is a list archive only.

It's not linked at lists-o-o.

lists.o.o is a list archive only.

No, going to each list there is a "subscribe" link.

I want to make the rules applied to mailing lists more obvious.

lists.o.o -> "How to subscribe" -> "mailing list netiquette" (middle of the 1st page).

I want to make the rules applied to mailing lists more obvious.

I hesitate adding the text you propose, for the following reasons:

a) it does not correspond to our mailing list netiquette page
b) there is simply not enough room in the left column on lists.o.o
c) the current netiquette is linked in every "welcome" message to new subscribers.

Linking the netiquette page directly from lists.o.o would be more feasible, if we think that is necessary.

Given the fact that lists-o-o might be migrated to a new system soon this task is obsolete.

Thanks anyway for looking into it!
