the admintable hardcodes 7 columns - which can easily run out of screen with just a little text in the values displayed.

I suggest we move every setting having more than 2 chars to "other variables". I attach what the current fixtures produce, but it's much worse on our openqa instances

I check now the length of the variable names and only add booleans

when I was done adapting the tests I figured that the real limiter is actually the headline. So having kde, gnome and xfce below DESKTOP should be fine. But having a 1 below STARTS_AFTER_THE_OTHER_TEST is not :)
