confirm that the strings introduced by the sidebar in yast are translatable
sidebar is translatable we will see if it works once yast2-trans is updated
Karl, could you please verify this one? Ie the strings you see in the sidebar in the installer should end up in yast2-trans. And if there are strings in yast2-trans, yast also should display the sidebar translated.
As of today (beta1), the sidebar is translated (German). But only if you have clicked "Weiter" for the first time.
Longer version: When you select "German", buttons and other widgets are displayed in German immediately. But the sidebar will be in English. Then you click "Weiter" and the sidebar will be in German as well. (Kleiner Schönheitsfehler).
I do not check whether everything in Weblate and the packages is fine. But because the strings are displayed in German, I'd guess that. (In the past, these sidebar strings were part of desktop-translation. Maybe, this is different now.)
Please reopen, if you want me to check things more detailed.

That sounds like a a YaST bug. I took the liberty to open https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1128153 ;-)

JFYI: Fixed in yast2-installation-4.1.41 (https://github.com/yast/yast-installation/pull/782/, https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/682367)
