Description
Motivation¶
It's common setup for our customers to have installation on encrypted disks. So it would be nice to have automated scenario which verifies it.
So scenario is following, we have installation with encrypted lvm (can be non-lvm too) and then migrate it to the newer version.
Acceptance criteria¶
- There is automated scenario in openQA which tests migration of installation on encrypted partitions
Suggestions¶
For qemu backend we can simply use qcow created by cryptlvm test suite for GM, or use AY profile which has this partitioning.

Basically the workflow is almost same as our current migration test without encrypt,
what we have to do is to create some images with encrypted partition of origin system,
then migrate to new version with 'ENCRYPT' and 'LVM'/'FULL_LVM_ENCRYPT' settings.
I already have a migration offline testing for full lvm encrypt running on local openqa:
http://10.67.19.14/tests/864
If there is no major problem, create some encrypt images on 4 archs and perform offline and online migration on osd.
The amount of this kind of test should be controlled in a reasonable number, what we concern is the encrypt partition
work properly after migration.

From results on osd, online migration for encrypted installation were passed without problem on all 4 archs,
Offline migration for encrypted installation on s390x and x86_64 were passed,
There are booting issues on aarch64 and ppc64le which are not correctly to handle encrypted partition in boot_to_desktop.
Opened new tickets for the issue.
This can be closed as resolved.
