Sorry for this late addition, but only to mention that the same original issue here found in bootloader_svirt, was also already found and analyzed in poo https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/162941#note-14 for same issue in slem 6.0 vmware in product increments tests, like https://openqa.suse.de/tests/15133827, and PR https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst/pull/2524 created for that.
In that PR2524 a solution was already provided, because the directory of original image in hdd/fixed/ was not transmitted to the subroutine input parameters, only basename of image was.
But then in next builds tests issue was no more present, likely because the final file already found in final destination: therefore finally that PR proposed only a debug setting, now available by adding in test settings VMWARE_NFS_DATASTORE_DEBUG=1. Anyway, the solution in that commit still is available.
After clarification discussed, clarified that the scope of current poo 164922 is different from the one 162941 here named.
