Motivation¶

PowerVM is the way to go for testing ppc so we should have that in o3 as well. For this we need a dedicated HMC in that network.

Acceptance criteria¶

• AC1: An HMC instance within o3 can connect to PowerVM machines within that network

Suggestions¶

• Research how an HMC can be installed
• Create a VM within o3, e.g. just temporarily put it on one of the openQA workers we have there for experimentation
• Install HMC including documentation, e.g. on our wiki
• Ensure that the HMC can connect to PowerVM machines within that network, e.g. use qa-power8, see #119059, put that in the network and control it
• Move the VM to a production VM like ask Eng-Infra to create one and recreate setup there
