release notes are unpacked in /mounts/dist/release-notes-suse.com/. We could just fetch them from there and check them into git.
OTOH I wonder whether we could just generate them locally and don't add the indirection of the package.

YaST actually fetches an rpm from www.suse.com and installs that one. The individual files are not actually used. So yast would need to be changed to download individual files instead.

What we could maybe do is to only put the HTML files into git and leave the existing mechanism for yast in place until we have a chance to update yast as well.
