Steps:
s1. make sure the ""Note of the Day"" is enabled
s2. Enable ""Note of the Day"" (Preferences->Add-ins->Tools->Note of
the Day), then have a current note of the day saved with manual changes to it.
s3. Wait for the clock to roll over to the next day.
s4. Restart Gnote by logging out and back in and reverify.

Expected Result:
VP3. Make sure that a new note of the day for the new date is available and the
old saved note from the previous day was not lost.
VP4. Make sure that a new note of the day for the new date is available
and the old saved note from the previous day was not lost.
