why javascript now? the rendered SVGs are bad because?

I am mostly concerned about people embedding the counter into their pages.

  • many people already reference the images
  • 3rd party JS might be blocked by many people and as such our counters wont be seen.

The svg countdown still exists but it didn't fit the www.o.o page
