Description

Observation

test fails in apache for ppc64
as reported below passed on TW 20201110 but failed on 20201111

The reported failed is a timed out on an echo command; I do not understand yet why.

# Test died: command 'echo 'AuthType Basic
AuthName "only joe must get in!"
    AuthUserFile /srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest/.htpasswd
    Require valid-user' > /srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest/.htaccess' timed out at /var/lib/openqa/cache/openqa1-opensuse/tests/opensuse/tests/console/apache.pm line 177.

The problem is similar but not on same line if retried (on same 2020111
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1468249#step/apache/157

# Test died: command 'echo '<Directory "/srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest">
    AllowOverride AuthConfig
    </Directory>' > /etc/apache2/conf.d/authtest.conf' timed out at /var/lib/openqa/cache/openqa1-opensuse/tests/opensuse/tests/console/apache.pm line 183.

I did a trial with revert of https://github.com/os-autoinst/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse/pull/11366
"Use serial terminal to reduce probability of mistyping"
in my own branch https://github.com/michelmno/os-autoinst-distri-opensuse/commits/debug_poo77779

And it seems that no more apache test failure after 3 successive trials:
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1468821#step/apache/104
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1469654#step/apache/104
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1469673#step/apache/104

I do not know how to continue there.

The issue originally reported for TW 20201111 disapeared for a while but new occurence on TW 20201207

same as above sporadic issue.
New occurrences for TW 20201208 ppc64 & 20201209 ppc64le but for relatively long string to be typed in, that has many missing characters.
(probably similar as old issue#67720)

TW 20201208 ppc64 : https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1500318#step/apache/157

# wait_serial expected: "echo '<Directory \"/srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest\">\n AllowOverride AuthConfig\n </Directory>' > /etc/apache2/conf.d/authtest.conf; echo S5eqF-\$?-"
# Result:
echo '<Directory "/srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest">
; echo S5eqF-$?-

TW 20201209 ppc64le: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1501849#step/apache/154

# wait_serial expected: "echo 'AuthType Basic\n AuthName \"only joe must get in!\"\n AuthUserFile /srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest/.htpasswd\n Require valid-user' > /srv/www/vhosts/localhost/authtest/.htaccess; echo ApX~p-\$?-"
# Result:
echo 'AuthType Basic
; echo ApX~p-$?-
