Description

See https://jira.suse.com/browse/SLE-16033

As we have different booting configuration, we should cover different architectures and backends (UEFI, non-UEFI, power, zVM, etc.).

Feature is about displaying where bootloader will be installed, trello task includes more changes which are out of scope here.

Trello card content (https://trello.com/c/2DON54qX/2161-3-lets-make-bootloader-location-even-better-again-d):
See https://github.com/yast/yast-bootloader/pull/623

We need to make it consistent

  • Summary should use the same words as the dialog
  • Change Location -> Bootloader Location
  • Define the "name" and use it everywhere ;)
  • Also mention the disk/partition
  • Discuss with Ken
  • Bonus: get rid of the empty line in summary

Bug reported https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1179168 The feature appears to be broken on zVM. Should probably not even appear there as the feature is about extended/logical partitions, so MSDOS partitions only afaik.

Other bug https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1179482, probably not directly related, but since it looks similar to the partition selection, I put it here to keep track.

I will conclude with this bug report https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1179564
The feature pretty much works, meaning it does what we're asking it to: run grub2-install where we tell it to. But the resulting setup may not work.
The two bugs related in comments 5 and 6 are not directly related, but somehow peripheral to it.

As per update in the feature ticket we will need also to test autoyast part as it was not implemented.

Could you also please do small demo tomorrow?

Sure,I can demo this. Will we create a new ticket once it's implemented, or re-open this one ?
