Observation¶
Looks strange and we pretty much have no logs. Splash screen appearing, looks static. Requires manual test.
Looks like sporadic one, as for build 122.1 once it failed and then worked
openQA test in scenario sle-15-SP2-Full-x86_64-skip_registration@svirt-xen-hvm fails in
sle15_workarounds
Santiago Zarate is good person to contact regarding connection to xen machines.

After investigating the issue, the following conclusions where reached:
- There is sporadic failure of the test in sle15_workarounds (7/10 tests fail) .
- The issue cannot be reproduced via manual installation on Xen hypervisor nor on KVM-svirt hypervisor.
- The issue cannot be reproduced via VNC connection to the virtual machine where the openQA test runs, after first boot and before sle15_workarounds. Ctrl-alt-F6, Ctrl-alt-F2 and chvt work as expected.

I'm removing tags, so tool team can take a look and give us a hint where to look or how to proceed. Issue is sporadic and we were not able to reproduce it manually even when connecting to the openQA run.
It's also not clear why we see splash screen, as on serial there is no evidence of reboot happening (when we normally see this plymouth splash screen).

I checked myself. I went through the videos frame by frame if there is anything that is not visible in screenshots or even when playing the video in normal speed. The splash screen just pops up immediately after the generic-deskop but it does not have any moving balls. This looks like an artefact image to me so probably the splash screen is not really shown, it is just this image presented to openQA. I also checked if maybe there are any key presses that would cause it but it should really just be the selection of different tty, tty6 in this case. For comparison, svirt-xen-pv does not seem to show this problem.
- Did you check if 122.1 is really the "last good"? So does the test pass 10/10 in 122.1 but fail 7/10 with any later build?
- If also reproducible in an older product build I suggest if there were any changes on the xen hypervisor host in that timeframe

@okurz thanks for looking into it! There seems to be no correlation to the product changes, as it fails or succeeds for the same build numbers sporadically.
In the last build it worked somehow, so decreasing the priority and let's check it in the upcoming sprints.

Provided logs in existing bug: openQA test fails in prepare_test_data - Switching back to TTY on Xen doesn't seem to work sporadically and job labeled in our group with it.
